In 2009, we developed the second generation. Then the Korean group decided to give all models names instead of numerical indexes, that’s why the crossover was renamed to ix35. But that was not all. They completely redesigned the exterior shape of the car in accordance with a brand new design concept that was called "Flowing line".
At the same time the engines were modernized. The 2.0-liter power gasoline motor increased to 149,6 HP (191 Nm at 6200 rpm), while the second version was the diesel engine of the same volume capacity, depending on the degree of force had 136 and 184 HP. All gear boxes, "mechanical" and "automatic" were of six-speed transmission. The power of the motors ranges from 132 to 185 HP. The top motor is a diesel one, it is the highest torque of 400 Nm achieved at 1,750 R/min. It is exclusively paired with an automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
The previous mechanical and automatic transmissions were added with a seven-step "robot" with two clutches, developed by Hyundai engineers which made a good work at Hyundai Tucson headlights. It is set only with the 1.6 Turbo GDI engine. The drive, as it was before, can be for both front wheels and both axles.
